Outside of work, I like to play the guitar, cook or bake, hike, watch sci-fi television, play spikeball or go out with friends. With the guitar, I like to play a very wide variety of music genres. I have learned some classics from the Beatles, some rock, indie music, low-fi, and other niche songs. The best way to describe my interests in guitar is finger-picking, as that is usually the common-denominator in the songs I learn.
My interest for cooking mainly started in college. As someone who has had home-cooked meals their entire life, I found that the cafeteria food and takeout nights did not live up to the recipes my parents and grandparents have made for me all my life. Learning the recipes from my grandmother and my mother have been super helpful in cooking delicious and nutritious meals throughout college. I found myself enjoying it, and I often cook or bake things for my friends when I find something especially delicious.
My hiking career, while still small, also started in college. There was a mountain only a few minutes away from my school, called Mount Nittany. It is a short hike; only 3 or 4 hours, but quite rigorous depending on the path you take. On days where I needed to clear my head or just needed to take a walk, I would head over to this mountain and spend some time there. I found the quietness of the woods soothing and I have been hiking more ever since. The banner on this page is a picture I took on a mountain I hiked, Pulpit Rock in Pennsylvania. I also hiked the entirety of Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona while on a bachelor trip.
As for television preferences, I really enjoy watching sci-fi series'. I have watched Supernatural several times, with Dragon Ball, Heroes, and Attack on Titan as runner-ups for my all-time favorite shows. As of recent, I have kept up with shows such as Demonslayer, Invincible, The Boys, Rick and Morty, and Dr. Stone.
I’ve lived in Pennsylvania my whole life, so I’ve always been surrounded by mountains and trees. But when it comes to vacation, I’d much rather be on a beach than in the mountains. One of my favorite games to play is Spikeball. As I mentioned in my Education and Career section, I started a Spikeball club in high school with a longtime friend. We still play together when we can, but it’s definitely a game best played on the beach. I also love that beach towns usually have a fun nightlife. My favorite places to visit have live music and a laid-back vibe - ideally with something to do, like playing pool. And on the rare occasion when I’m in the right mood with the right people, you might even catch me at a nightclub.
